Ocasio-Cortez mocks Trump’s tax return response: ‘We didn’t ask you’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a shot at President Trump’s response to Monday’s congressional request for his tax returns, tweeting “we didn’t ask you.”

The twitter jab from the freshman congresswoman came hours after the House Ways and Means Committee asked the IRS to release Trump’s 2013 through 2018 tax returns.

When Trump was later asked about the formal congressional request, he told reporters, “until such time as I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do it.”

Ocasio-Cortez mockingly recapped the exchange on Twitter.

“Congress: ‘We’re going to need a copy of the President’s tax returns from 2013-2018,’” read the first part of her tweet.

“No, I’m ‘under audit,” she then wrote, reenacting Trump’s reply.

She finished the tweet with a reminder to Trump, saying “we didn’t ask you.”

the survivors would be entitled to 50% of the profits.

Profits? In architecture? If you are lucky you make a living and can put food on the table.

Extremely obamaesque. You bring up some valid points, that I didn’t know about, but there in lies the rub. Apparently the condo in the Bronx was paid off when the dad passed away. She’s got all this other crap going on. No one is doing an investigation. Imagine that.

Now, it’s being reported that she answered a casting call. Not sure what to believe of that, but, I have to say that it wouldn’t surprise me. Good looking girl. Right mix. But, if it’s true, I’m thinking they didn’t think she’d be this vocal and this much of a moron.

Trump should ask all the democrat senators and reps to produce their tax returns in return.

It would be interesting to see how these congress critters get so rich while in office.

Once again AOC sounds like a little kid talking back to her parents.

Exactly.....though I see the twit more as a rebellious teenager that thinks nobody tells her what to do or say. Her words and behavior are consistently in that ball park.

Something is wrong with a woman who was elected to be a Representative of the people sitting and arguing to see the President’s tax returns for 6 years so she can find some little thing to hack at him with. She is a kook as are most democrats. They are not doing the service they were elected for.

Give them ideas? Like conforming to the Constitution? If only WE THE PEOPLE would FORCE them to do so.

The only ideas I’m giving them is that Congress get back to being constitutionally legislative and NOT unconstitutionally executive which is what all this stupid tax-return nonsense looks like - unconstitutional congressional acts.

Bet she used that showy rack of hers to make some unreported income at the local “gentleman’s club.” Enquiring minds want to know.....

I don't know what it is like today. I know in the 1970s architects were very much upper middle class. Remember "The Brady Bunch"? The father was an architect, the mom was stay at home, they could afford a full-time maid, and raise six kids.

I also went to college in the late 1980s at a university with a top architecture school. Architecture was a 5-year program producing a "professional degree" which was the equivalent of a masters. It was very much in demand and very hard to get into.

It is certainly possible there are more architects than the market needs, in part driven by technology, and these factors could have pushed down median architect compensation.

But as I pointed out, AOC's father was bidding on public sector jobs where his minority business status guaranteed him a higher revenue.

"Her wages in 2017 came to about $26,600, according to the 2018 disclosure, and she's still paying off $15,000-$50,000 in student loan debt."

This is such B.S. She knows exactly how much student loan debt she has each month. Asset values are an opinion and fluctuate. Debt id a fact and does not fluctuate beyond variable rate issues. That she is providing a range of this level is complete B.S.
