In the 1970’s virtually all pistachios sold in the U.S. came from Iran.
The supply was suddenly and dramatically cut off after we imposed sanctions over the taking of our embassy.
What happened as a result was that California farmers quickly geared up to produce these nuts. Today California produces more pistachios then ANY OTHER COUNTRY on the planet.
Lesson Learned: Cut-off Mexican avocados and someone here will seize the opportunity. Long term it will be a win-win.
Given the state has cut off water from a good number of the farmers there, I would be surprised if this were still true.
Yep - and I haven’t heard a single person say they will be severely put out even if avocados become a memory...
A few years ago the Mexican cartels controlled the lime market.

I don’t care about avocados or pistachios. I want to know where all the Braille nuts went. Haven’t seen one in a few years now.
This works for me....don’t eat the stuff anyway(intentionally at least)
