The Koran has scriptures commanding Muslims to kill the infidel for all time. This makes it fundamentally different from Christianity and Judaism. In the Torah, God does tell the Jews to kill certain unbelievers who were alive at that time, but there is no command to kill for all time. That is a huge difference, and an obstacle to reform in Islam, I think.
