This does help the president out a lot. China, North Korea, and the EU, if they were trying to run out the clock on President Trump's administration, just got the clock set back six years. The negotiations from now on will be even more in our favor. We will now likely get a border wall too.
How does this make it likely to get a border wall now? Not sure your reasoning about negotiations here. Can you elaborate? Thanks.

Simply because of the lost credibility of both the democrats and the media. They would have had difficulty overriding Trump’s veto, but now that the political calculus is that he will be president for six more years, and democrats have lost a lot of credibility, they will not get the votes to override the veto. Would they rather put up a fight about it and lose yet again?
