I can certainly see this point of view.

What swings me the other way (towards a powerful counterattack now that obstruction is off the table) is the way President Trump keeps saying: "This should never happen again."

I think he is convinced that if the perps walk free on this, then America has lost something vitally important--the rule of law, the sanctity of elections, the truth.

I think he is even willing, at this point, to risk what is nearing a "Won game" in 2020, for the principle.

I think he perceives what has happened as Treason, and he is no less courageous than our other greatest Presidents, i.e., Washington, Lincoln and Reagan.
