Shes already the target of a petition demanding her resignation."
Ok, here it goes.
After seeing several threads casting doubt over Rep. Ilhan Omar, here is my problem with her.
Depending on how USA defines its enemies, Rep. Ilhan Omar, previously as a state lawmaker, allegedly gave comfort to enemies of the USA.
Here is evidence of two different instances where Ilhan Omar supported terrorists
And if it is decided that she did give comfort to enemies of USA then imo she is prohibited from being a federal lawmaker by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, giving aid or comfort to the enemy one of the triggers of Section 3.
14th Amendment, Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof [emphasis added]. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."
Insights welcome.
One could say the same thing about the Congresswoman from Idaho who voted AGAINST declaring war on Japan in 1941.
