Here is my analysis of them, they live in a TV commercial...their teen and post college years were spent watching Suburu and beach beer commercials because they had nothing else to do while living with their parents and no jobs. They envision themselves sitting by a campfire with their partner and dog, a suburu in the background. Then a train goes by and they see themselves in an open rail car. In the beer commercials they are in a bar or the beach, encircled by friends of every ethnic group, same sex hugs, all the same height and weight,, and due to their beautiful teeth, they know they are very, very happy.
Presidents are mostly shooting stars - look at Trump, Obama, W Bush, and Clinton - and nobody has been elected POTUS after having first held statewide 20 years before at least attaining the VP office. Carter, less that a decade after election to Governor of GA, Reagan, 14 years after election as Governor of CA . . .If anything dooms his candidacy, it’ll be his age.
. . . and his “service” time. Biden was a senator back when Clarence Thomas was being confirmed - he first held statewide office in 1973. He became VP in ’09, 36 years later.There’s a first time for everything, but . . .
