While Miami lobbies for the 2020 Democratic Convention, party officials are bracing for an awkward outcome: hosting a nominee such as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in a city filled with immigrants who fled socialism in their home countries.
Democrats are debating between the Florida metropolis and the sleepier Milwaukee, Wis., with Houston, Texas, a distant third option.
Miami Democrats are frantically trying to convince national leaders that holding the convention in the biggest city in a critical swing state would be an important step toward winning the Electoral College in 2020.
**SNIP**
But some Democrats in southern Florida are nervous about having to explain to their constituents that their party may nominate a candidate critical of President Donald Trumps rhetoric on Venezuela and sympathetic to the Castro regime in Cuba.

You have to live through it in order to know that socialism sucks? RATS may be better off in Milwaukee pimping their version of Sharia.
Florida, in the end, stays a red-state.
It would be amusing to have some journalist walk around the Cuban community in Miami, and get a dose of reality during the Convention.
Do not want this clown car convoy of bolshiveks, layabouts, welfare sponges, whiny hipsters, etc in Milwaukee
Milwaukee, Wis. would be my guess.
Hundreds of thousands of protesting hispanic victims of socialism aren’t photogenic.
Then too, they take their position and protesting
seriously and are not about to turn the other cheek.
I would have to be convinced that Hispanics in Miami hate socialism. Or they may hate socialism but how many of them vote Democrat?
Will they again deny God three times?
It’s gonna be Milwaukee. They have a beautiful new arena.
If I pray for the health of Bernie Sanders am I committing a sin based on my motivation for that prayer?
I am pretty sure that whomever is the Democratic candidate they will be critical of Trumps Venezuela rhetoric and sympathetic to the Castro regime.
There is unlikely to be any other kind of Democrat running. Democrats critical of Communist regimes are as rare as hens teeth.
But, but, but, but, the socialism in Venezuela was not a “Faithful” implementation of socialism; that’s the ticket! Sean Penn would be happy to explain the difference, if anybody would ask and he would stand still long enough to be asked about it.
Cubans are not like Mexicans. They are way more conservative and they don’t like to take welfare.
And unless you want to fight, never call a Cuban a Mexican.
So true. They hate Mexicans.
The Cubans in Miami have always been pro-capitalist. The problem is not now—and never has been—them. The problem now is the 800,000 who fled Puerto Rico during the hurricane 2 years ago. They are NOT pro-capitalist and have become addicted to big government handouts which we have been doing for years with that island. The standing joke is PR’s chief import from the U.S. is welfare payments. For the past two years since the exodus which the MSM has completely ignored, they and their offspring have overtaxed neighborhoods and Florida’s schools and physician’s offices statewide. I called a medical specialists office in Tampa the other day and was told the next appointment available would be in mid-May. You can’t even find a parking space at WalMart anymore. The extra people here are NOT from Pennsylvania or Vermont. This article as usual ignores the 800-pound elephant in the room.
According to the Socialist ‘RATs’ own storyline, the illegal alien “refugees” are coming to America in the millions to escape socialist sh*tholes. The “democrats” are a waste of “college diplomas”. They don’t know a thing. Morons with “college diplomas”.
How high will THE WALL be around the DNC?
Its not the Cubans that worry me in Florida, its the New Yorkers.
I would enjoy seeing that. A democrat convention being protested by (cuban) Hispanics. That would make for enjoyable optics.
