Back around late 1968 or 1969, a group of “professors” at some university demanded SCOPES be banned from rifles, as several killings(JFK, MLK, Medgar Evers, The Texas Tower) had taken place with scoped rifles.
This was soon after Bobby Kennedy had been murdered with a handgun.
That’s nice, but I can drop a man sized target from 300 to 500 meters without a scope.
