IMHO, withholding by the guvmnt should not take place. Let the IRS send a bill at the end of the year and make everyone send them a check; then you’ll see some REAL tax reform.

We could also move tax day (or Election Day) to be on the same day. As you go to vote, you drop off your taxes

Which is why either proposal will never work - ask your average person how much money they make a year, and 99 times out of 100, they will answer with their net figure instead of their gross.
If we had to write the check ourselves to the goober-mint, you are semi-correct. Not only would there be tax reform, but there would be immediate tax revolt.

This. I once had my boss say he was interviewing a person for a job, and she didn’t know how much she made, but she knew she took home X amount. And how much would our company have to pay her for her to take home that same X amount.

I came up with a ballpark number, but it was a big stadium, that’s all I can say.
