I stayed with him last night and will for the next 4 nights.
We have three ladies helping take care of him. They take shifts, I am the relief button.
He has been doing really well lately. Except for his balance and it is difficult for him to express himself fully. At times it is pretty good, other times not.
He is still pretty tough. Very independent minded.
God Bless You. Taking care of my Granny at her end was one of the most wonderful and instructive periods of my life. Somehow, through the process, you live their life again through memory and identification, remembering all the stories and all the lessons, and honoring them.
At the time it can seem very difficult, physically and emotionally. But through it all - and even more later - you are so grateful for having had that opportunity.
I’ve done this with my grandmother, my father-in-law, my mother, my mother-in-law, my aunt, my uncle, my son and my wife.
I still have a daughter and a grandson. And my 94 year old father. And my younger brother.
