I know this is going to piss off some people around here, but social security is socialism.
If we really believed in our capitalisic system, anybody under the age of 50 should be told they are not getting social security.
Never going to happen though.

I've watched the "promise" of Social Security for all of my life. I saw the trend as a newbie in the workforce that SSI would not live up to the promise. I also watched as medical insurance went downhill, as we entered the co-pay generation.
Retire? No. I'm one of those who looked carefully at the previous generation of workers/retirees and asked "is this for me? What would I do with myself if I didn't have a job?"
So I soldier on.
