back in the '50s and early '60s my church's choir (in a lily-white-at-the-time south chicago burb) produced an annual minstrel show as their main fundraiser, it was good music, good humor, and a lot of fun for all -- not in any way mean spirited.

now if only i can dig up some old photos, maybe there will be a pot of gold at the end of my rainbow after all.
