I prefer State of the Union speeches without the speeches. Let the President send a written report to Congress which can be distributed without spin to the American public using whitehouse.gov.
And I'd feel the same no matter who or what party is clinging to the Oval Office at the time!

What is it about old school, country club Republicans who want to be good losers and suffer defeat after defeat because they refuse to speak and state their case to the American people with logic and passion? This defeatist attitude has to be resisted for the poison it is.
