The conception of what constitutes racism changes over time. In 1984 blackface was racist but it wasn’t too many years earlier that it was not considered racism. In the 50s and 60s it was Jim Crow, segregation and voter intimidation that was racism. In the 40s it was lynching. In the 1860s it was slavery.

I think that in the distant future ID politics will be considered racist.
