I am watching President Trump being interviewed.
Trump has, since his nomination, been saying that the Iraq war was a mistake. On this interview today, he is bashing the CIA for telling President Dubya that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
Which he did not. Allegedly.
Do these people really think that Iraq should have been left under the command of Saddam Hussein?
Guy invaded Iraq. We had to fly airplanes over his space to protect the Kurds. He rape and murdered his own citizenry, with some help from his fine sons.
I think that it was a lie, and the CIA knew it, that Saddam did not have weapons of mass destruction. Israel would not allow it. Israel had already destroyed one bogus nuclear reactor Saddam had.
The wonderful plan, which worked, was to assert there are weapons of mass destruction and after his own citizens hang the guy, the communists/facists come out and blame Dubya Bush for being so dumb.
It was win-win.

I was one of the greatest proponents of killing Saddam in 2003.
Now I see it was a disaster.
Hussein was keeping the lid on the boiling pot od Islamic Fundamentalism. As was Khadaffi and Assad currently is.
I’ve now realized that the biggest danger isn’t these secular Arab dictators but the Islamicists who simply want to kill us and everyone who does not adhere to their 100% Mohammadism. and that includes all the everyday Islamic Joes who support them.
First of all Bush 1 should have eliminated Saddam when he decided to defend Kuwait.
Did Saddam have Chemical weapons, yes, but probably only a small amount - same as Syria. These dictators used the Chem. weapons on their own people.
My take on war - if you chose to do war in the Middle East - do it quickly do it with no charity and them come home. Let the locals pick up the pieces. Do it again if needed - just like disinfectant - may need to be applied multiple times to eradicate the viruses
