There’s always some nutrition fad going. The only thing I emphasize in nutrition is getting enough protein, and that doesn’t mean consuming it until it comes out my ears.
Yes, lots of conflicting opinions on nutrition out there.
Here is one more that you may find worth looking into. I came across it on U Tube while watching a lecture by the great Jordan Peterson whom many on the right have great respect for. I gave it a try (7 months now)and can vouch for it,(just got results of last blood test yesterday = very good results).

The big advantage is the diet’s simplicity, and several beneficial side effects, including absolutely no need for any vitamins or supplements - nada, zilch, bupkis. Acid Reflux disappears.
