My only disappointment would be Ginsburg showing up on her groundhog day in the third week of Feb. The normal recuperation period after that surgery is two months. It’s day twenty of the countdown.

....”for disloyalty - not for stupidity”

It is the perspective of Democrats that disloyalty IS stupidity.

The man she primaried out was Joe Crowley. He had been elected ten times before and was polling 29% ahead of AOC. So, he phoned in his campaign and thus lost. I think he could take her out in a campaign even though he is Caucasian in a heavily Hispanic district. (It was a Caucasian district before the Democratic diversity plan kicked in.) I think he could retake the district if he actually worked at it and had the party’s backing.

Before her election, I opined (and would have bet the farm on it) that the clearer heads at the DNC would support Crowley under the table, not wanting to lose his seniority power in Washington. On his side, being a 20-year vet, he would have had a lot of local IOUs to call in. Slam Dunk.

Boy, I would have lost the farm as well as my shirt.

If they were so inept that time, I doubt they can overcome her momentum now.

“Before her election, I opined (and would have bet the farm on it) that the clearer heads at the DNC would support Crowley under the table,”

I don’t think their support would have to be under the table. He was in the party and in a good position. As a DNC lawyer said during a lawsuit by Bernie against the DNC about rules violation said, “It’s our organization and we say what the rules are.” (They won.)

I think he lost because he was a no-show. I never read about him campaigning. It appears he stayed in DC. Too much faith in polling, I think.

AOC had significant backing from the Socialists and a significant pick-up staff on the ground. I never read anything about Joe’s efforts and staff.

Crowley took the race for granted .
A Radical socialist group knew this primary had real low turnout and targeted it plus another in Boston primary and
picked a PR to run and win by a few thousand votes.

Crowley did not know what hit him .
Someone write a story about this radical group and there strategy .

Even if you buy he took the primary for granted, which I do not.. his name was still on the ballot for another party and he didn’t bother to run. If he had he would have won... they wanted this woman. They arranged this, now they can deal with the consequences
