On Jan. 17, President Trump tweeted: No Cave on the issue of Border and National Security. Eight days later, he caved, agreeing to reopen the government for three weeks without getting a penny for his border wall. His right-wing allies are spluttering in rage, but they shouldnt be surprised. This debacle confirms that Trump is not the ultimate negotiator he purports to be. He is, in fact, a lousy negotiator. Now he may be on the verge of concluding the worst deals of the century by pulling U.S. troops out of South Korea and Afghanistan in return for empty promises from Kim Jong Un and the Taliban.
Trump is preparing for a second summit at the end of February with Kim even though the North Korean dictator continues to expand, rather than dismantle, his nuclear and missile programs. In his New Years address, Kim demanded substantial concessions before he would begin to make good on his vague promises of denuclearization made at the June 12, 2018, Singapore summit. He wants a relaxation of sanctions, an end to U.S.-South Korean military exercises, a peace declaration ending the Korean War and the removal of U.S. nuclear weapons from the region.
National security adviser John Bolton, supposedly a hard-liner, just signaled that the administration may give North Korea what it wants. He told the Washington Times, in an interview published Friday, that what we need from North Korea is a significant sign of a strategic decision to give up nuclear weapons, and it is when we get that denuclearization that the president can begin to take the sanctions off. So much for the administrations previous position that the United States would not relax sanctions until North Korea agreed to complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization. Bolton is signaling that in exchange for some significant

Have you ever built a building?
Bullshit!!!!!!!!! Not even on her best day.
Bullshit!!!!!!!!! Not even on her best day.
yes, the fault is largely with the GOP-e’s
you are correct
imho, they MUST be replaced asap, they are ruining the country by enabling and cooperating with the commie/nazi DNC types
the problem appears largely to be with the several Dimocraps in Drag types (Collins, Murkowski, etc.) that won’t stand up or support anything to repair the Obama-Pelousy-Reid era damage to America
instead, they seem to almost always work with, support, enable the commie/nazi/DNC leftist destroyers
but it must be said, PDJT has kept the Mueller Demolition Derby against our constitutional governance and individual liberties...........in place, operating,...for over 2 years already........and he’s not yet Drained the WashDC Swamp, either
these two things continue to undermine the representative governance we voted for.....and I believe they will undermine PDJT’s administration, too
So, it appears you support an imperial presidency, like Obama’s.
I wasn’t happy either with the president, but I think it would have all come to a head this week had there not been an agreement. The Senate was about to roll over, and had they done that the president would have been left hanging by himself (as usual), and in even worse shape than he is now. No question it was a loss for our side yesterday, but a lot of that can be put on the useless Repukes in Congress. Let the media gloat and San Fran Nan act like she’s the giant slayer for a weekend. We lost a battle, but hopefully we won’t lose the war.
Pelousy says no SOTU until the threat of shutdown is history...
Can you give me a $1.00 so I can read the damn article? Thanks......
I believe they will offer big money for border security, but absolutely no wall...They will have every talking head, politician and former spy claiming there is no emergency and certainly no crisis at the border...Mitt Romney and the other Republicans slugs will agree with Pelousy...President Trump needs to grab a shovel and start the wall construction on Monday morning...
if those handful of GOP-E “roll overs” cannot be handled, dealt effectively, negotiated with...(McConnell?)... then we have no support at all in WashDC for what we voted for.. 3 or 4 “traitor” GOP-e’s can and will continue to ruin the program. And I may as well relax since our (continued) rape is inevitable
its just that every once in awhile I wake up hopeful that things might get better, even for a little while, in WashDC
It didn’t cost me anything.
And how is that "caving"? Three weeks from now we will see what Trump does. Max Boot may be surprised.
They think it’s over?
They must sign their name to the back of a paycheck because, for Trump ain’t nothing ever over
Surprised democrats didn't go berserk about Cody being Italian!
Cultural Appropriation, you know...
“If the shutdown continued through this week the Senate on the Repuke side would be caving in with McConnells help...”
From this keyboard expert’s perspective, that would have been preferable than to do a variation of H.W.’s lip reading.
I read elsewhere Pelosi said the demokraps were successful because they were unified. If the GOPe were unified and stayed with POTUS, the outcome would have been much different. POTUS bailed out the GOPe; Pence delivered the message from the hill. While I’ll continue to support POTUS, he played the shutdown game like a businessman. As soon as the demokraps indicated there would be no negotiation, he kept negotiating with himself. He should have stopped making offers to entice demokraps back to the table ... people armed with 24/7 slanted news support and deal in bad faith, who hate his guts.
Pelosi isn’t the problem, Romney is the problem. He’s the one who stuck the knife into Trump’s back.
Until then, just stick it.
Hopefully, in the meantime, Bolton will end the weaseling and resume the hard line against NoKo.
“I know this: we need to stick together. “
There is no doubt about that. I’ll take POTUS on his worse day over any demokrap on [its**] best day.
(** Used word “it” since it is becoming more difficult to tell the natural biological characteristics of a demokrap. )
