Many right-wing figures lined up Friday night to criticize President Donald Trump for temporarily ending the government shutdown for three weeks without having convinced Congress to fund his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall.
Controversial commentator Ann Coulter called Trump “the biggest wimp ever to serve as president” and Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said Trump had been “whipped” by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Fox News’ Sean Hannity, however, had a different take.
The “Hannity” host, who is a staunch supporter of the president and even joined him on stage at a Missouri rally ahead of the 2018 midterms, insisted that Trump still “holds all the cards” when it comes to negotiating with Congress for the wall.
Hannity claimed that Trump would simply declare a national emergency to obtain the funds if he couldn’t seal a deal for the wall with Congress during the next three weeks that the government is reopened...

Obama created DACA through a 2012 ‘executive order’ and was was a ‘temporary’ deal.......Trump has the right to stop the DACA program...and since these were kids brought here ‘illegally’ he can certainly deport them especially those who have committed crimes. They all knew this was a "temporary" state.

..And if it doesn’t Trump will reposition again until it does work......he needs from his supporters the ‘room’ to work this rather than folks getting their pants in a knot over every play.....Anyone who really thinks Trumps going to throw in the towel didn’t hear him at all. HE made it very clear when he ran that if he doesn’t get wants he will work at it til he does, which includes revisiting if he has to....
I'll type this slowly, so that even you might be able to understand it... Congress controls federal spending just as much as the President, if not more. You are pretending that Trump can wave a wand and change it all unilaterally when Congress will not approve it. That's not how it works, no matter how much you stamp your feet and cram those fingers in your ears.

I’m taking a bit longer view than this particular issue.
I could go back to the early 1990’s, but take for instance the last two years.
The Congress, RNC and GOPe had an unprecedented opportunity to really support the MAGA agenda and completely reverse the majority of the damage the 0bama years did.
You know the story - they fought him at every turn. They were silent when they should have been out defending him.
When big media attacked and lied about him, they stood silent. The GOP stood in his way on everything important with the exception of taxes and regulations - FISA, Mueller, the list goes on.
They stuck so many knives in Trump’s back I’m surprised he has any blood left.
Am I off base on that?
It is, we really do not have anybody representing us anymore in Washington. All we have is Trump and a handful of other people, ones that fight and open their mouth like Graham. The rest all cower under their desks while the democrats do whatever they like. Think about it: Republicans held both houses for the past two years AND the White house while it was discovered a whole bunch of illegal activity was going on in the FBI, Obama justice dept, the Hillary campaign, the CIA, and TRUMP is the guy who gets his ass investigated off while THOSE people are protected? It made me realize the Republican party is gone, it’s been consumed and is in league with these domestic enemies whose only agenda it seems is to destroy the country. This is really bad because a huge chuck of the population is not being represented properly now and it could result in a rebellion and a Civil war.

All the negativity from y’all on someone who has changed his mind on the support of our POTUS. Here we are 2 years in, now without a majority in Congress and you think something is going to get done. You’re all delusional. Even if he gets “wall funding” you know it’s not going to be built by 2020. You also know it won’t be the wall promised.
Riddle me this. Why is it that when Trump had the majority in Congress he didn’t force the wall funding in the budget bills? Shut down the government at that time since it outs the Republicans who are for open borders so they could be primaried. Seems to me that’s what majorities are for right? Get your agenda items pushed through.
I think our POTUS is all too reliant on career politicians to see him through this Presidency. He has continually nominated folks for positions that do not have his or the best interests in the country in their heart.
I’ll gladly eat my words if I’m wrong but if not Y’all owe me an apology if I’m right. And my tag line still makes sense, just because I’ve lost support for POTUS doesn’t mean I don’t support borders and legal immigration. That is all.

I will confess, I think what is driving me nuts is seeing Pelosi “win”, even if it’s a Pyrrhic victory. I hate hearing all this praise on her, and that frickin’ way she’s celebrating this.

This hasn’t arrived at a point of winning or loosing......it’s a matter of who has the ball at any given moment. ....and as much who just tossed it. Trump threw the ball to Pelosi and she’s running with it so naturally her fans are going to be cheering (media included)....but that doesn’t mean we stop supporting our team as we wait and watch how they will respond and when.
Further there are other players on the field besides these two in this game.

Um. My handle has been the same here since joining FR. Tagline has changed from time to time but handle will remain the same. Although it is wishful thinking on my part, what politician in their right mind would vote themselves out of a job aside from Mr. Rand Paul.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately the President only seems interested in deporting gang members. IMO his generosity will be repaid with their "citizen" anchor baby children voting against him as soon as they can.
