A Muslim congresswoman deleted a tweet that criticized the Catholic high school students involved in last week’s controversial confrontation with a Native American elder outside the Lincoln Memorial.
US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Tuesday night responded to a tweet from President Trump in which he defended 11th-grader Nick Sandmann and other students from Kentucky’s Covington Catholic High School.
Omar wrote, “-The boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose & yelled “it’s not rape if you enjoy it” -They were taunting 5 Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants -Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm to write his non-apology.”
Before Omar’s tweet was deleted, a lawyer who’s offered to represent the Covington students for free said it had defamed them.
“This is libel. Retract, or get sued,” Las Vegas attorney Robert Barnes tweeted.
Omar’s rape-related claim apparently was based on a video clip posted on Twitter by lawyer and Playboy magazine writer Amee Vanderpool, who admitted she didn’t “know if this boy attends Covington.”
A member of the House of Israel fringe religious group — known as “Black Israelites” — has also told The Post that he sparked Friday’s incident in Washington, DC, by hurling insults at the students, many of whom were wearing Trump’s trademark “Make America Great Again” hats.

Unfortunately, according to a Libby Locke on Tucker’s show last night, congressmen are exempt by federal law from libel suits. Locke is a lawyer specializing in this.
She can’t be sued. She does want to get re-elected, so that was the only reason for deleting the post.
Has the leadership of the House stripped Omar of her committee assignments?

This isn't limited to just Catholics. Oh no, they extend their hatred to ALL Christians and in particular, whites with an extra dose of hatred for white males.
It's that magical "privilege" that every single white "enjoys."
I’m not a lawyer much less specializing in libel, but it’s my understanding (and for what it’s worth you can find numerous sources on the internet} the libel/slander exemption applies to words spoken on the floor of the applicable house. I don’t think the President even has that for what he says from his place of work. However it’s my understanding Congress essentially passed themselves immunity in the late 80s in a followup to the post WWII Tort Claims Act giving not just Congresscritters immunity from not just libel/slander but many longstanding Tort claims. Speech from the Floor, that’s Constitutional. An act of Congress exempting themselves from remedies available to citizens harmed by anyone else in the nation, that could be pursued But requires deep pockets to go after America’s ruling royalty.
Nothing new. The reemergance of the KKK (need I not a Democrat political organization) in the early 20th century came from the Mary Fagan league, dedicated to ridding America of Catholics and Jews. Along the way Catholics got de-emphacized a bit, but never quite left as a target till post JFK. Today, only pro choice Catholics like Nancy, whatever those might be, are accepted.
