If the Covington Catholic incident was a test, it’s one I failed—along with most others. Will we learn from it, or will we continue to roam social media, looking for the next outrage fix? Next time a story like this surfaces, I’ll try to sit it out until more facts have emerged. I’ll remind myself that the truth is sometimes unknowable, and I’ll stick to discussing the news with people I know in real life, instead of with strangers whom I’ve never met. I’ll get my news from legitimate journalists instead of from an online mob for whom Saturday-morning indignation is just another form of entertainment. And above all, I’ll try to take the advice I give my kids daily: Put the phone down and go do something productive.

Especially when the info comes from CNN. Come on!
Even when I watched this the first time (and the video was chopped to look bad) I could not see the problem. It was like a 64 year old man was saying “he’s looking at me”. The bad behavior was in the mind of the person watching.
See? The people are not fit to report their own news. We need legitimate journalists like msnbc and cnn to do that.

I took one look at the first photo and it didn't look to me like the kid was harassing anyone. It smelled like Fake News from the beginning.
Not “at least”. At most. Big difference.
It is more faux apologetics that drips with such virtuous verbal flagellation (but only a little, no blood please). The insincerity comes across clearly.
If only obnoxious MAGA wearing kids were not of that abhorrent pro-life stripe, the author opines almost breathlessly.

They can all stuff it. Between Buzz Feed and now this on top of every false story! There is no more quarter. And none to be given either.
This is war, and people need to embrace that fact.
She kind of apologized but not really. She’s still a bigot that hates even an inanimate object that represents our president.
I’m not in the business of discerning whether someone’s apology/come to Jesus moment is sincere or not, especially over the internet. And a lot of people are having to do this in the wake of this event. Some have been better than others. But the real test as always is the next time something like this happens. Still think as long as culture as it is, its still going to go on.
We have a huge problem with this media machine/tech social platforms/social justice unholy alliance.

I hope that boy gets record payouts. I would think justice can only be served and this crap stopped if people and corporations are bankrupted over this.

CNN did an interview with Chief Buffalo Chip. Oddly enough, they didn’t ask,him about his previous claims of harassment or military service.
There were several people, right here on Free Republic
who condemned those young men without knowing all the facts.
The media lie.
It’s what they do.
The narrative was a lie from the start. Anyone who actually watched the video could see it.
Shove it, lady. You still failed the test. This was a set up from the get go and you work an organization that publicizes this ruse to all your gullible sheep that read your rag.
