The difference between Harris and Obama is, the campaign announcement has just been made and there hasn’t been a complete purge of related documents.

Other information, such as Donald Harris’s work involving foreign affairs and the Ford Foundation, and residences in the District of Columbia and Florida, point to other potential complications.
After 2008, we learned a lot more through FOIA of domestic files of Obama’s “father,” as well as British colonial archival records from the U.K. and Kenya.
Similar documents are likely to exist, pertaining in particular to Kamala’s father Donald Harris (and possibly also to her mother from India, Shyamala Gopalan).
There are about 21 1/2 months between now and election day in November 2020. Hopefully citizen researchers will be able to accomplish what the media wouldn’t in 2008: Vet and verify the eligibility (or ineligibility) of a presidential candidate.
