And this prompted a torrent of opprobrium and condemnation from not only the Left but “conservative” sources, including a Catholic diocese.

I thought the same thing. The original photo didn't support the charge of "taunting."

Media and lefties only saw taunting because their perception is warped by their white-hot hatred of Trump and conservatives.
