It's even simpler than that. Just ask him to produce his DD-214. That will tell us if he is a Marine Veteran and if he served in Vietnam, the two claims he is making. It is possible as mentioned earlier in the thread to be 64 or 65 and be a Vietnam (in country) vet, but it's highly unlikely because there are very few of those.

A good reporter, writing the facts could say he claims to be a Marine Vietnam veteran but has shown no documentation to verify the claim.
