You’re welcome-part of my job has always been verifying that an applicant is in this country legally by checking out all their info-including what is on their I-9.

When I worked for a large company in the city in the mid 1980’s-we used to see it all the time-we would turn a couple of people over to la migra and the cops almost every week for having bogus ID’s-there were even a couple of underground places near one of the AFB’s where you could buy bogus ID’s-for a high price, in cash.

Since living and working out here-since 2003-I’ve only seen it once, and the person worked for another contractor. But this is a remote rural place with less than 400 people in this 20 x 20 mile area-no one does anything-personal or in their business-that damn near everyone else doesn’t know about by dinnertime, so hiring a mojado isn’t a wise thing to do-you will get the sheriff called on you and your business will suffer from no customers.
