Congress passed a law some years ago, allowing the President to RIF federal employees who have been furloughed at least 30 days. Since this is the longest shutdown in US history, its never been applied.
We are about to see Monday.
What does RIF stand for though?
Youre kidding right. Reduction in Force. The furloughed go to laid off. Bye bye, hasta la vista, dont come back.
Ok, thanks I never heard of the abbreviation RIF (Reduction in Force) until now. Thanks for that and now I know.
Be safe.
