Jealousy is, at is root base, a murderous emotion.
The jealous don’t just want what other have. The jealous want others dead for having what they, the jealous, don’t have.

There was an interesting study years ago, which I think was rather accurate regarding jealousy. You know how older children, not older than seven, are physically aggressive to new born siblings? Parents recognize it as jealousy, which is accurate but they always say “oh, he loves his sister/brother, just adjusting”. The truth is the older child is enflamed with jealousy and when they pinch, poke or hurt the newborn, they mean it, they hate that siblings guts and want it to go away. In many instances they would literally kill it to make it go away.
