Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and a select group of congressional Democrats were boarded on a military charter bus bound for Andrews Air Force Base to catch a military charter jet to Europe were forced to turn around Thursday when President Donald Trump officially postponed the trip.
Trump sent a letter to Pelosi informing her that she would not be allowed to use military aircraft to travel due to the government shutdown and instead suggested Pelosi fly commercial. It reads:
Due to the shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate.
According to Capitol Hill reporters, the Democrats had already departed in the military charter bus for the previously unannounced trip and were forced to turn around. Reporters on the Hill noted that members were “furious” over the trip derailment.
Democratic Rep Adam Schiff was on the bus that was forced to turn around and told reporters after returning to the Capitol, “I don’t have any comment” when asked for comment on the incident.
Republican Congressman Sean Duffy tweeted, “Democrats: Get off the bus and help us secure the border!”

Pelosi is saying the reason for the trip was to thank our troops and to collect information from front line personnel on the ground status.
But if she really were the speaker of the People’s Hpuse and not just Dems, shouldn’t some R’s been on this tour too?

It’s right there in that Constitution thingy between Murdering the Unborn and the Right for Homosexuals to Marry each other.
I imagine Trump was looking out for their best interests... concerned about their security due to the shutdown, just like Pelosi is worried about Trump’s security in the capitol.
Now I ask you, would either of the Bushes have done that. Hell, I am not sure Reagan would have had the balls to do it!

It’s a petulant teenager on restriction trying to sneak out of the house to party with her friends — and getting caught. Papa Trump has put Naughty Nancy on double secret probation!
Nancy had her own ride and security detail to her own plane for the trip.

True. Reagan wouldn’t have had too the general public (according to the media at the time) liked Reagan. We still like him and DJT but the MSM ain’t got the message yet. Nasty really thinks she has power, she’s dumb as a stump. If it gets through the House, it has to be heard by the senate. Then Trump has to sign it. Failing that it goes back to congress for another vote. 2/3’s this time. Overriding a POTUS veto isn’t easy. It’s the old “you catchem and I’ll cleanem and fryem).
Poor Nasty Pee-lousy, no free liquor junket for you! She has spent millions of taxpayer dollars for her free flights over the years, much of this for free liquor on Air Force aircraft. Yup, it’s a liquor-guzzling party for her and her buddies. Glad to see President Trump (he doesn’t touch liquor) put a stop to her freeloading off the taxpayer dime, at least for this vacation journey she planned.
He should have stopped the trip as the plane was being taxied down the tarmac. Do it for effect. All that time packing and preparing.

Better would have been to deny any return transportation.
Just exactly who are these “select group” of Democrats, being forced off their charter bus to reclaim their luggage and return to the Swamp they have made for themselves?
