The Nat King Cole Trio first recorded the song in the spring of 1946. At Cole's behest and over the objections of his label, Capitol Records a second recording was made later the same year utilizing a small string section, this version becoming a massive hit on both the pop and R&B charts.
Cole again recorded the song in 1953, using the same arrangement with a full orchestra arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle.
Cole recorded it once more in 1961, in a stereophonic version with another full orchestra arranged and conducted by Ralph Carmichael. Cole's 1961 version is generally regarded as definitive, and in 2004 was the most-loved seasonal song with women aged 3049.

Hi Fatima.
I had trouble with this week’s options. I will pick “Cuts You Up” by Peter Murphy.

Donovan - cutting out
Pink Floyd - One Of These Days
That is actually the song my parent’s named me after.
My dad claimed he saw Journey on the same week as Genesis back in the early 80’s in L.A. I would give top money to see Steve Perry front Journey just one time..
He is a big freaking liberal but Cuts Like a Knife by Bryan Adams.
Out of Reach (of my two Open Arms) - Soloman Burke
Note: It is sung as "Two empty arms", but the title above is correct
Dixie was the daughter of Duncan McGuire, the bassist in a band Tommy played with and that Tommy babysat occasionally and this is a instrumental he wrote about the rambunctious child.
reached No. 3 on the pop chart and number 11 on the R&B chart
