Here is how I would handle it. I would send a little note to that hag and inform her that I will address the legislature in the house chambers at the appointed time OR, I will adjourn the House until I see fit.
He has the constitutional authority to do just that. And if anyone here thinks not then take a look at this tidbit from the constitution.
