King made a bad decision to be interviewed by the New York Times, he made a terrible decision not to record the interview, and he made a garbled statement in the interview that can easily be interpreted as praise for white supremacism.

His Republican colleagues don't want to be bothered with trying to explain again and again why King is not a Nazi, and why they don't support Nazism. It is easier to just shove King under the bus. That is unfair to King, since he is obviously guilty only of misspeaking, not guilty of supporting white supremacism. It is, however, a practical solution to the problem that King's gaffe created.

King might have had a brief period immediately after the interview appeard to respond by taking full responsibility for what he said, while specifically and forcefully rejecting his own words. "Here is exactly what is wrong with what I said." He had to provide a plausible reason for his speaking in error. Exhaustion, medication, something. Even that might not have been enough.

If you start scoring points for the opposing team, you probably won't be on the field for long, even if you are a star player like Steve King.

Over COMPLETE LIE by NY Times

What "complete lie"?

What did the Times say King said that he now denies saying?

This is what happens when your Enemy controls the flow of information to the Public.

Republicans are in survival mode, fearing anything and everything they do or say will be twisted into Evil Incarnate.

Newspapers, Media, Entertainment and Education are nothing but Left Wing Propaganda tools.

A lesson for all Republicans; Do not give interviews to New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, etc. reporters. They are not your friends and cannot be trusted to report accurately.

What was he thinking in the first place?

So the GOPe believe that the citizens of Iowa who elected King have no right to representation on committees because of a question. Everything is so PC today no one dare speak.
