Seth Meyers, host of "Late Night" on NBC, said the president wants to deliver the speech on Tuesday night "to repeat his lies," and questioned the decision to give him air time.
First of all, just because Trump wants to address the nation doesnt mean networks should air it, Meyers said. "Otherwise, theyre just passing on his lies unfiltered."
"They should either reject him outright, or, if he insists on speaking in primetime, make him do it as a contestant on 'The Masked Singer,'" Meyers joked.
Stephen Colbert, who hosts "The Late Show" on CBS, tweeted Monday night that the network would air the president's speech. He invited to viewers "tune into CBS to See B.S."
"My network will be carrying Trumps Wall speech live. So at 9pm Tuesday, tune into CBS to See B.S. Stephen Colbert (@StephenAtHome) January 8, 2019"
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) says he expects President Trump "to lie to the American people" during a primetime address on Tuesday about the partial government shutdown and situation at the southern border.
I expect the president to lie to the American people. Why do I expect this? Because he has been lying to the American people," Nadler said at a press conference near the border on Monday.
Killary’s boys shot the wrong Seth.
“The NARRATIVE was set early today. Everything Trump will say is a lie”
Its all they have - that can’t counter the facts and logic, they have to just try to deny them.
