Can never figure out if its a dude dressing like a chick or the other way around.

Usually, you can do it with a simple word substitution:

Trans man = Fake man = woman

Trans woman = Fake woman = man

Any time you see the word "trans" or "transgender" followed by woman/man, simply read it as "fake".
