Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered remarks with fellow Democratic Congressional leaders following a meeting at the White House.  Below are the Speaker’s remarks:

Speaker Pelosi.  Good afternoon.  We just completed a lengthy and sometimes-contentious conversation with the President.  We agree that we will continue our conversations but we all recognize, on the Democratic side, that we really can’t resolve this until we open up government and we made that very clear to the President.

Pelosi is trying the Sen. George Mitchell gambit. If you will reopen the government, we will negotiate honorably.
I think the president is too smart for that.

Too funny - she knows she and Smirky-face own it now and that their base will be missing the hand-outs in less than a week....that’s why she wants the government open before they ‘resolve’ things. Trump threw down the gauntlet, they picked it up and ended up over a barrel.
