Yes, it goes to pot.
I think it should be a states rights issue. But I also think that a couple states should go full legalization and the others should sit back and watch the results for ten years or so.
Having been to Washington State recently and seen hordes of shiftless stoned out young people waiting in line for free food, I have a pretty good idea where the results will come in, should they be honestly reported.
On the medical side, if one has a truly chronic or terminal disease, do whatever you want. My state recently passed medical marijuana laws and judging by the number of dispensaries that have opened, our state must lead the nation in chronic illnesses, or people and doctors are just cheating.
Statewide? I call Bravo Sierra.
Seems like a lot of correlation but not much causation in this article.
Its not healthy, especially for adolescents, but social approval by the left has promoted it. We wouldnt approve this use for alcohol, so why approve it for a substance which is quite possibly more dangerous?
Nobody proposed legally approving such uses of pot - and your stories show that criminalization didn't prevent extralegal approval.
But pot literally cures every single malady from lung cancer to decapitation
Marijuana, tobacco and alcohol should all be illegal.
That policy would at least have the virtue of consistency.
While I don’t disagree that smoking pot is unsafe during pregnancy, understand that there is no lethal dose for THC-at least when smoked. Weed is not toxic. Not sure about extracts, but suspect it would take a nearly impossible amount to get to lc/ld 50.
Also not saying weed is hazard free. Neither is alcohol, which is toxic and obviously has an lc/ld 50.
All three are above the danger line, cause may problems and should be illegal. Alcohol is the worst, but they all qualify as too dangerous.
Probably has more to do with Americans' personal observations of marijuana use, IMO.
And what about the expensive lobbying campaign against marijuana?
I don’t know anything about pot and paranoia. For a year or so, in the late 70s, I indulged. Towards the end of that stage, I started suffering from anxiety while high. I hated it; it was scary. Therfore, I had to quit. I was wondering if anyone else had this side effect? Or if this is a common occurance? But in the end, i think that if something is narural, it should not be illegal. It’s a plant! Now alcohol? There is human interaction to produce the final product. Especially distilling. How bout dat.
People that are all doped up are less likely to vote.
...aww, hell. pot thread. we all know what happens next.
Another protracted thread pitting
Authoritarian Conservatives vs Libertarian Conservatives
Popcorn
What are the general criteria for that determination?
I always thought the paranoia was caused by the illegal status of the drug and the possibility of being caught and punished for using it.
My main objection to legalization (as opposed to decriminalization) is that when the users have toked themselves into befuddled unemployability it will be declared a disease and they will go on the dole. Then you and I have to pay to keep them housed, fed and high.
Good! Too many idiots vote as it is.
Acceptable DRUG use primarily marijuana was one of the key catalysts for a whole generation of lost people in the 60's and 70's. It contributed GREATLY to the left's takeover of our institutions. It contributed to the economic malaise of the late 60's and 70's. Ronald Reagan SAW this which was why he set an anti-pot tone in his administration. Unfortunately ever since then the left has snuck it back into society often with the help of libertarians who cry "freedom" when it comes to pot.
It doesn't take a genius to look at history and see how negatively widespread drug use kills a society and a culture.
