Most people are unaware of the situation of jockeying for power in the Middle East. There are several interests competing for overall power over the Persian Gulf, independent former Soviet states, control of the Muslim "holy sites" and for some, the destruction of Israel.

The main power brokers are Iran, Turkey, and the Saudis - who are tacitly allied with Israel. Turkey has been maneuvering with Iran for influence over Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kirghizstan, and Uzbekistan - and going along with Iran in suppressing the Kurds since the Kurds are located in both countries. Basically, whomever gains control, controls the Islamic world.

The reason the Turks exposed their espionage capabilities by skylining the Kashoggi murder was to diminish Saudi power and to elevate their own. We are closely tied to the Saudi-Jordanian-Israeli- Gulf State alliance and therefore aligned against both Iran and now, Turkey. Syria is only important to us because of its ties and assistance to Iran - and its links to Russia.

Also France...even more surprising.

THis would have never happened without Trump making the decision he did.

The Saudis and Emiratis have allegedly been there for about a month:
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20181122-saudi-arabia-uae-send-troops-to-support-kurds-in-syria/

If the subject article is true, they will be merely reinforcing their presence there. Should the Turks attack these forces, we may be looking at a small-scale conflict between the Turks and Saudis, in stark contrast to the situation a century ago, when they were allies against the Hashemites (who now rule Jordan) aided and abetted by Lawrence of Arabia. Saudi and Emirati aircraft would provide top cover from bases in Jordan.

Saudi Crown Prince MbS Sends Replacement Troops To Defend Kurds in Syria

Fine, just as long as every American is out of there.

The Saudis can eyeball the Turks over the Kurds fate, and

The Saudis can eyeball the Turks over who will head the New Islamic Caliphate, and

The Saudis can eyeball the Turks over who will ally with ISIS and the "Free Syrian Army" to fight Putin and Assad for the glory of "Arab Spring" Globalist Progs.

If I thought the Saudis could fight their way out of a wet paper bag this might be welcome news.

Trump has been very busy behind the scenes. I just listened to Alex who does a great job breaking it all down. This Trump guy is a true genius and if this doesn’t make one proud of our president - nothing well.

I was so shocked & sickened when I heard the news of the US pullout from the Kurds held areas.

Next to Israel, the Kurds are the only decent folks worth helping over there in the middle-east esp as they have been hunted and abused by the other countries for many years.

Now that the news that the Saudis and others are stepping in to hold the line, I'm sure that the Turkish dictator is crapping his pants in surprise.

The Saudi Crown prince is probably sitting and thinking out aloud "BRING IT, YOU FOOL!" if Erdoğan tries to step into Kurdish territory to try to do them any harm.

Here is a wishful thinking on my part on the whole pullout deal: One RUSH ORDER of 5,000 US JAVELIN missiles and 1,000 of the latest Stinger anti-aircraft missiles for the Kurds coming right up, as a farewell & good luck gift to them from their American allies!

All of a sudden on hearing of this weapon aid to the Kurds Putin, Assad, The Iranian mullahs and Hizbullah suddenly dont feel too well...

Curious, Is the Saudi Army 100% Saudi soldiers or do they use mercenaries?

Due to the current prolific output of petroleum in our country, it is now feasible for a realignment in the Middle East without completely crashing the world economy.
