The Kurds are very brave and yes the good guys.

The foolish poster saying the Kurds should be bombed is quite stupid.

Magyb Putin can fly some attack planes off of his air craft carriers to assist Assad.

Saddam Hussein’s right hand man was a Christian... who really liked wood chippers, and was an expert in bribing western officials to look the other way when it came to Saddam’s abuses, like children’s prisons and mass graves.

Yemen was already beat down and toppled by Iran. The Saudis are fighting Iranians with a lot of experience there, not just raggedly Houthis.

Not to mention it was in Yemen where the terrorists blew a hole in the side of the USS Cole, also with Iranian assistance but well before the Iranians swarmed the country and toppled the leadership.

Turkey and the US may indeed come to blow.
Singular.
As in one.
And that will be it for the Turks.

Israel has great intelligence. If Israel needs our help, they will tell us.

“And now we know why Eric Prince was in Saudi for the last few weeks.”

Reminds me of the old question about the Saudis going to war: Who will they give the contract to?

Perhaps Eric Prince’s Afghanistan plan is going to get tried out too (a lot more private security, some of it paid for by businesses going in to mine and such).

“If I thought the Saudis could fight their way out of a wet paper bag this might be welcome news.”

They can generally hire what they need.

“I thought Saudis fund and not fight.”

That could be why they are coming in after the main combat operations against ISIS are complete.

They can manage the reconstruction in the Kurdish areas, provide enough sophisticated equipment (air support, tanks, etc.) to overmatch local threats, and serve as a tripwire deterrent to keep the neighbors like Turkey, Assad and Iran from charging right in.

In the event of a big blowup, we would have to surge back in to support them - but we don’t have spend our billions per year in the meantime.

Thank you. I’m so sick of seeing American troops killed and maimed in vain. The ME is a violent craphole and always will be. It is simply not our fight and we need to cease sticking our noses into every conflict on the planet.

In the Syrian clusterf**k, no side is “good” but Assad remaining in power is the best option. The Syrian Christians support Assad because he is secular and has protected Christians and other minority groups. If Assad goes, say hello to a new Syria run under barbaric sharia law. Unfortunately, there are some freepers who desire that scenario, just so they can thumb their noses at Putin.

Our troops need to be on the Mexican border, period.

Not all Kurds are good guys and gals....they fight their splittails....a lot get killed sadly some beautiful

Lots of film on this on the internet

Kurdish girl fighters

But when compared to Daesh

Yes all Kurds look good

Some Kurds are commies

Some are simply criminal militias

But again compared to ISIS

I live in an area with most Kurds of anywhere outside Islamland

Saud is not our ally.

Saud is not our friend.

And Saud has been known to provide aid to ISIS.

So this is not a win.

Why an over extended Saudi military facing off against the Turks is a win is beyond me

the Saudis are famous in Yemen for building sex-forts and not much else especially in the area of military wins. Like someone said the Turks will go through the Saudis like wind through the trees and not even notice.

The reason Mattis left is because he knows that - even though we have only a marginal national interest in the area now - in time those ME forces will once again come after the US as they did on 911. Only by being there do we keep a lid on things while making friends.

Leaving is abandoning allies to the jaws of their deadly enemies - whatever trust the US had rebuilt under DJT is now gone. Mattis likely feels that this abandonment is akin to leaving a soldier behind and it sickens him.

Having spent a year at Sinope back in the day watching Turks kill one of their own with a cement filled bucket and all the rest (which you must know), they are only rivaled in their absolute disregard for life by the Chinese. The French are saints by comparison. The modern Democrat Socialist Progressive Communist Party (DSPCP) has only one aim absolute power to be achieved by the total destruction of the USA

Mattis is a General with soft positions on trannies in the military and enhanced interrogation.

I lost any respect for him when he testified to Congress that enhanced interrogation was ineffective.

It directly led us to Bin Laden. And further, he knows that is the reality. So, we know even tuff labeled Marine Generals can be Democrats and be very wrong.
