This is what is missed by all the folks on FR that freaked out because people were calling Trump on this. If we don’t speak up, bad things might happen—trial balloons work. If there is one thing about Trump, he can be wobbly and go with the last person he speaks with. The collective scream of Americans, his supporters, saying No! works. None of us are Kool-Aid drinkers or lemmings. Robust discussion, criticism, saying No! is okay and very, very necessary. Cheers to all of us that Trump appears to have heard us!

First, no bill to veto...yet.

Second, would be hard for House to get anything done by tomorrow with or without border wall funded.

Third - if the House passes Senate version (basically a “Screw You Trump” move), he can sit on it for up to 10 days. If congress in session at that time, it automatically becomes law. However, if they are not in session (at 10 days) it does not become law. If he Vetos it when they are in session, they would need to override. (I fear with these feckless legislators, that is a real possibility!)

Fourth - if they get him a bill to sign, he has 10 days - they have to stay in session or it becomes moot.

But, if Paul grows a pair, he will get a bill passed with $5B in funding - then ultimately goes back to Senate. If it dies there, its on them.

Could be an interesting couple of days.

Unfortunately, I think he will sign by tomorrow w/o the funding and get some agreement to agree or some such nonsense as cover.
