In the 1970s and 80s, The Economist was the most respected Conservative source for international news in the world.
I had no reason to distrust it.
In any event, my current understanding is that most white South Africans vote for the Democratic Alliance.
The Democratic Alliance talks tough on crime, and it pays lip service to free market economics, but everything else in their political platform - guaranteed income, national health care, etc. - still sounds like European Socialism.
Bottom Line - if all 4.5 million white South Africans moved to the USA, we would be lucky if half of them voted for the GOP.
Perhaps the vast majority of expats left a vacuum, or perhaps, just perhaps, there really isn't a political party, in RSA, now, that wouldn't set your teeth on edge.
You have NO personal, factual data to draw from, so you're just guessing. And believe it or not, not ALL whites in RSA are chaffing at the bit to leave; as IMPOSSIBLE as any of them doing that, let alone ALL of them, is.
