Well, from my own personal knowledge of Afrikaaners living in America, the VAST MAJORITY of them vote solidly GOP. Quite a few of them even used to post to FR...that’s how CONSERVATIVE they are.

I have only met one South African in my life, and he was a tourist at my Father's hotel four decades ago, not an expat.

However, as an avid reader of The Economist magazine in the 70s and 80s, I developed the clear impression that the white South African government was modeled after a European welfare state.
