Based on dust in my hair and bugs in my teeth, I have to say that The Travelers have gone many a mile. Irony in that we continue to green-light their journey.
We have reached the level of “law” that plagued the days of the Roman Empire, almost from the beginning. The rule of law, so revered by the Greeks, was supplanted almost entirely by the rule of strong men, and the countervailing forces that pulled the most egregious of these “strongmen”, like Caligula, into a trap and murdered them. Or openly, like the murder of Julius Caesar on the floor of the Roman Senate, by persons he imagined to be his allies.
