This is referring to the famous Cleo who was being inquired about - Anthony’s lover - the one in the movies.

Which Cleopatra? I believe all of the Cleopatras were actually Greek, and Greek girls are usually quite attractive.

It will be especially interesting if they can extract DNA from the mummies. Farrakhan will be upset if Old Kingdom Egyptians are shown to not be black.

Nope, not What’s My Line. Haven’t had any luck on-line so I’m beginning to think it might have been a periodic episode of some drama show like GE Theater or Playhouse 90.

This web site documents descriptions of historical events, even some from hundreds of years BC, written by people who were present to witness. I can’t vouch for the authenticity, but it is fascinating reading.

“Have wracked my brain, but can’t recall the show’s name or host.”
You may be thinking of Steve Allen’s “Meeting of Minds” on PBS in the late 70s.

Yes, that's it! I remember Steve Allen as the host - but thought the show aired much earlier than the 70s.
Even better, it's on You Tube. Many thanks ...

In the 50’s there was a CBS series ‘You Are There’ in which famous events such as the Andrew Johnson Impeachment vote in the Senate are treated as contemporary news events. Regular CBS news staff from New York, where the show was made, appeared as 20th century newsmen interviewing or asking for the take on events historical figures such as Thaddeus Stevens or Johnson's defense lawyer Reverdy Johnson (no relation). Walter Cronkite was the show MC and lead journalist. It was pretty accurate in depicting the historical characters.

I remember the You Are There series, but that wasn't the show I was thinking of.
Another FReeper came up with the answer ... "Meeting of the Minds," a television series created and hosted by Steve Allen, which aired on PBS from 1977 to 1981.
It's available on You Tube.

Wow, thanks for the ping. It’s always surprising to learn that an archeological find of this magnitude has remained undiscovered. This is exciting!
