Lucky it wasn’t in the seat next to the ‘service dog’
I was sitting on a park bench where a bunch of kids were playing nearby. There was a real service dog, being trained as a seeing eye dog lying down with his trainer. Two inches from his snout was an unwrapped Tootsie Roll that the handler couldn’t see.
I remarked how well trained the dog was to not eat the candy. The handler told me that he didn’t even know it was there. Some kid must have dropped it.
That’s what real service dogs do.
