As many have already said, Another once great institution destroyed by liberalism and political correctness.

The pressure on them was relentless for many years. To their credit, the BSA did try to resist it for a long time.

Decades ago, I used to donate to United Way via an employer-sponsored plan where you could designate a small portion of each paycheck to go to them. I didn't necessarily like all the groups that United Way gave to, but because UW distributed their $$ to the BSA and others who I liked, it seemed to be worthwhile *on the whole*.

That feeling ended, as did my support for United Way, when I heard they had dropped support for BSA due to the latter's "controversial" stands, such as not being welcoming to homosexual Scoutmasters, not dropping "God" from their pledge, and the like. After cutting off my United Way donations, I gave some directly to the BSA, and planned to do so in the future. But because that requires diligence, and requires time to write out a check and find the address and a stamp and an envelope, as opposed to auto-withdrawals which require you do nothing after the initial setting up, my BSA donations dropped by the wayside.

My fault.

Although they made a serious error in allowing homosexual Scoutmasters near the end of their life span, I will at least give them credit for holding out so long, at the cost of donations from big PC corporations, before finally succumbing to the jackbooted PC thugs.

RIP, BSA.

Lol My local pack kicked me out for being too much of a man and making the other dads seem Like pussies. ( which they are ) For example. I would build giant sledding hills and haul the kids sleds 🛷 up for them all day whereas none of the other dads would even try it once except a couple Then I’d teach the kids to Chop wood and they’d say. It’s too dangerous One old scout master said I’m a guy from a different century (1800s) They finally sent some loser over to read some note to my wife when I was at work. Saying my kid could still come but I was limited We said. Fuck you. Loser faggots. We’ll go camp on our own

“lost two-thirds of its members.”

Wow. Sad. I went to my relative’s Eagle Scout ceremony in Los Angeles a few months ago and it was inspiring, patriotic and dignified. Too bad the BSA has losers triggering law suits and decreasing customers.

Boy Scouts need clear ethics and courageous role models.

Royal Rangers is a Christian scouting group started in 1962. It's not exactly the same as the old Boy Scouts or Trail Life but it's a great organization.

My son quit last year after Webelos. BSA lost their way. So sad that they decided to bring down the GSA as well.

And hopefully the Girl Scouts will follow suit. Their suggested ecumenical service that was on one state’s site included all religions and even went so far as to refer to God as Great Scoutmaster. Pure blasphemy!

You mean parents don’t want their boys camping with a gay scout leader? Who’d a thunk! /s

A proud and helpful organization brought to its knees by degenerate pederasty. Damnation to those who did this.

This thread is very defeatist and distinctly un-Boy-Scout-like in its gloom and doom.

The lesson is obvious, learned by everyone, the good guys and the bad, and that is: PC, socialist-atheist, militant gay, and feminist influences are absolutely inconsistent with and destructive to the supremely good work of the Scouts, and the innocence of the boys who put on the uniform.

What the Scouts have accomplished over the last century can never be forgotten or diminished.

The evil infiltrators who attempted to kill the BSA may have rendered its current financial and legal structure prone to bankruptcy, but, another BSA will come out of the ashes. And a lot of good will come from it.

They can and will channel Baden-Powell, Churchill and Kipling, and Washington, Jefferson, TR, and many others, and start over anew.

They will soon get on with it, if I know the Scouts and Alumni as I do... they are probably working on it right now.

And this time, stronger than before, with no allowances for PC, gays, or SJW feminists.

On Steyn's website right now is coincidentally this 'Song of the Week':

Will you remember the famous men/ Who had to fall to rise again?/ So take a big breath/ Pick yourself up/ Dust yourself off/ And start all over again...

All we have to do to win a great victory over these heathen Rats, in this battle and in all the hundreds of others, is to never, ever, ever, give up. And never get discouraged.
