“Should 5 percent appear too small.

Be grateful they don’t take it all.”

Whose effing fault is that?

CA floated the mileage tax and then the 401k tax.
Both died once they realized their democrat base would bbq Sacramento.

The socialist programs in CA are mostly job creations for public employee unions. Most of the money goes to the worker’s wages and benefits including pensions. Whats left over goes to the beneficiaries.

Could not really blame my daughters because it was the texts their teenage friends were sending TO THEM.

Tried to imagine my dad’s reaction if some technology had existed when I was a kid that would allow my friends to run up his bills.

From those according to their ability, to those according to their need.

Wonder if any of those goofs ever heard of Marx. (not Groucho)

Are they sent texts, or received texts?

What about texts from out of state?

What if someone, from say, Nevada, texts jillions of texts to “Popular” Democrats?

Amazing! The Rats in CA are totally blind to what’s going on in France.

Then again they may be right. The idiots here just voted for a gas tax hike.

The politicians will tax anything they can. They even want to tax retroactively five years.

I like talk like this out of the left...this is a losing position for them big time and will lead to the examinations of other taxes by the ticked off public.

When they are taxed like phone calls, will they have the same legal protections as phone calls?

Intercepting a phone call requires a warrant. Law enforcement can get all of your text messages by simply asking your phone carrier for them.

Never text if you can call — you are voluntarily giving up strong protections.

Silly Silicon Tax....
Taxing the text message. Does the state plan to retain the message for the tax documentation?

Make all of the CalPERS and CalSTRS retirees stay in the state, as a condition of their pension.

Think of all the lefties and double-dippers who would have to move out of Colorado, Nevada, Montana, and Arizona.
