As with “climate change”, beware those who decry global changes based on a few mere centuries of data.
As you correctly point out, the Earth’s magnetic field flips. The reverse in polarity is about 140,000 years overdue. Past reverses in the Earth’s magnetic field have not indicated mass extinction events. So no need to plan for doomsday (on account of magnetic reversal) or to tax it.

Exactly this guy, or folks using his work, trying to prove a young earth is laughable. As long as we have a spinning core surrounded by magma we will have a magnetic field. It will wander and poll flip and strengthen and weaken, but its not going anywhere, and the idea that current weakening proves a young earth is not supported.
