There is some public confusion about when mail ballots are due. There is a persistent but wrong belief that, like income tax returns being considered timely if postmarked by April 15, mailed ballots will be counted if they have a postmark by election day. Moreover, late military ballots are often counted under special federal rules.
Voters have 30 days to mark their ballot and mail absentee back. If they can’t do that, their vote doesnt count.
