Reminds me of a recent documentary we watched regarding the assassination of Caesar. The folks that did it did not have an end game, were eventually hunted down and killed. Same goes for the assassination of Lincoln.
I realize my examples are much different than the French situation.
But let’s assume Marine Le Pen stepped to the forefront to lead them, I’m certain the Macron government could find something illegal, similar to a revolution, and order a military crackdown.
Regardless, the outcome will be interesting.

no modern western military will ever stand up to the people in a government overthrow situation.
the military is made of citizens.. and they wont in mass turn on their families and friends (even if ordered too, which the left and even the commies in Russia didn’t have the balls to do)
