More than that. 20K is the size of a well-equipped US division or 4 Roman legions.

Enough of a group that could easily be handled by squadron of B-52s (not the musical group).

Well, maybe if they set up some loudspeakers and played 'Rock Lobster' loud and repeatedly. Worked with Noriega!

or a couple of AC-130 Ghostriders .with A-10s to mop up ... save money that way. If you insist on B-52s, then please use cluster munitions ...

The Lockheed AC-130 gunship is a heavily armed, long-endurance ground-attack variant of the C-130 Hercules transport fixed-wing aircraft. It carries a wide array of anti-ground oriented weapons that are integrated with sophisticated sensors, navigation, and fire-control systems. Unlike other military fixed-wing aircraft, the AC-130 relies on visual targeting. Because its large profile and low operating altitudes (around 7,000 ft) make it an easy target, it usually flies close air support missions at night.[5]

Send in one every 15 minutes. Load the first with water balloons, the second with paint balls, the third with stink bombs, the fourth...? Probably won’t need a fourth, but...then again the possibilities are endless.
